How clean is your air?

Commerical Airduct Cleaning Keeping your ducts clean help keep your employees healthier!

I didn’t know I should clean my air ducts!

It’s easy to forget that in our commercial spaces there is a cooling and heating system in the ceiling, or in the walls, that requires routine maintenance. Just as after a certain number of miles, your car requires a new air filter, your forced air system and ducts require attention also after a number of uses.

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years. However, how often you need it depends on where you are located. Some locations in the U.S. tend to be more damp, and/or have a higher level of particles (pollen, dust, mold spores, etc.) in the air. As well as, unfortunately, here in Oregon we have wildfires every year, that smoke and ash can clog up your air filtration and ducts at a much faster rate!

In addition to regular servicing, other times that you want to have those ducts cleaned are:

  • If you see, or smell mold within the duct system, many people in the U.S. have mold allergies, which can make your business and home life difficult.
  • You see or smell rodents within the duct system.
  • If the ducts are covered in dirt and debris
  • If you own pets that produce dander (which means cleaning the ducts more frequently)

In Benton & Linn Counties, we are amongst the top regions for airborn allergens. Keeping your ducts clean helps reduce the amount of allergens in your workspace. The energy savings are great as well! By keeping your ducts clean, it keeps your air system from having to work harder, using more energy, which ends up costing you more. Think of your heating and cooling system as the lungs of your office building - it takes the dirty air in, and breathes clean air out. Keeping you and your employees healthier.

When you are running a business, customers are your number one responsibility, so get those ducts checked out and know that SERVPRO® is always by your side!
